white smoke?
coming from the exhaust, a fair bit when cold as you woud expect but there is a little throughout driving????
Also i think i spotted a little coming from the manifold when it was cold this morning????
Is the manifold at the front on the vtr's?
Could that be connected to the ratteling under the middle front of the car?

Well if it's losing coolant and there's white smoke the headgaskets gone. Have a look at the coolant level - is it between the min and max markings? Is it overheating at all? What does the oil look like - any signs of mayonnaise?

not overheating at all, when i got it drove it 1hour down the motorway and was fine, stayed a level middle all the way,
oil seems fine, will check coolant later.
Vtr engines look a little odd to me, been used to renault.

Did you get head gasket done at a proper garage or get it done on the cheap?

Keep an eye on the temp gauge for any signs of crazyness and keep checking on the coolant and you should be OK.

hmm he might not of cleared out all the gunk from the last head-gasket sounds stupid but its really common in most garages and DIY. get a compression test that sud tell you wether the head gasket is going.

When cold most cars plume out condensation for the first few mins.
