Default Clutch??

fitting a vts box to my mk2 vtr this weekend so may aswell change the clutch at the same time. my m8 has got a clutch thats only done 200 miles on his old mk1 vts engine (cambelt snapped) he reckons that it will fit as the gearboxes are interchangable but i thought that they use differant flys. anyone got any idea because i dont want to get the car in the air with no box or clutch on and then realise that its not going to fit??
thanks
