Extreme camber on Right Rear - Update (problem found need advice though!)

Any ideas why my right rear wheel has developed a rather large amount of negative camber (around 5-8degs Im guessing)

I have my suspicions its the beam bushing but could do with some knowledgeable advice.

ads it wants doing sooner than later bud , do it now and you should be able to get away with one set of bearings and bushes , 'bout 30 squid and a load of effort / labour on your part .Do it later and you'll be looking for a new tyre and a rear beam for the oil burner . Get ryan to do it for you with his new halfaulds socket set !!!

oh btw got plenty of 4 stud drum rear trailing arms if you need any

yeh ads i left whole new rear axle on total cost me about 250.00 with labour if i count the fuck ups i reckon it cost 2 axles needed etc i reckon it cost 800.00

Thats great man, thanks for the help. I may as well upgrade to powerflex bushes then (if it is the bushing right?)

If the beam needs replacing I may as well get a brake disc one... out of interest how much are we looking at for a replacement beam both drum and disc) thanks man

I would say look at my beam rebuild guide but ur not a member on ssc
I wouldn't fit another used beam, nor would i fit new bearings to your current beam. Leaves you few options.

Alex I dont see any real probelm rebearing it aslong as the stub pins are ok ?

Ads its probably NOT the mount bushes , but the trailing arm bearings themselves

but the stub pins are softer metal than the bearings themselfes, therefore the stub pins are always fucked.

yup yup, even though they are case hardened, roller ground etc - annoying. Surely it should be the other way round?

Pull trailing arms off and have a look at the stubb pins, ost some pictures and we'll go from there

how much will a vtr rear beam set me back homies?

Josh, I don't have a clue when it comes to the rear beams to be honest

I picked one up for £100, but they're usually about £120-150 I think... Very rare though.

You'll need the vtr brake lines as well or to cut and flare the ones that you currently have on

Ad i would stick to base model beams mate, more about, won't have been lowered so less likely to have fucked bearings. plus disc rear brakes are crap, and you'll have loads more hassle, vt beam is 20-30mm wider too so arch clearance probs with flat arch.

no way... never knew that. I know there is about 10mm of clearance between the tyre sidewall and the inner lip on mine.

The drums annoy me severely... mainly because I dont know how to change the sodding brakes on it. but if you reckon it isnt worth the hassle then I'll stick with the drummys.

well to take the drum beam off you have to disassemble the rear drums anyway to take the handbrake cables off, so you'll need to know how to do the drums anyway. they are piss easy, i did them on my ax with no knowledge of cars at all, just my dads tools and a haynes, aged 17.

Which beam to get.... (alex thanks for your suggestion - I'm still with you on getting a direct replacement but...)

Ok.. I could get a replacement base model beam... the mechanic seems to think that the wheels on mine (VTS wheels) may have play some part in the bearings going bye bye and that a VTR/S beam (which is slightly wider) would prevent this happening again due to the wheels - I'm dubious that the wheels had an effect but would like your advice on this please
Aid.... what prices can you do me for a refurbed beam, base and VTR beam quotes if you can inc. delivery? I'm getting the garage to price on up for me at the moment too

Wonder how much the garage will charge for fitment
