Default Mileage Readings

Hi,

Does anyone have problems with accurate mileage readings.

In my other cars I do a trip from home to th office, its 139miles. Its the same in my mazda and was the same in my old cars passat and impreza.

For some reason its 145miles in the saxo.

Does anyone else have this problem? It seems to add 5-6 on each trip even to other regular journies, Plymouth 173 instead of 168. Strange...

Its a VTR on standard alloys and tyre sizes.

Thanks

milenia

several reasons but the most likely is that because the saxo speedo is around 5%-10% out (so at an indicated 70 you'll be doing 63-67mph) most cars have some form of under reading but the saxo's it appears to be a lot worse than most. Whether the odometer/trip computer is linked into the speedo reading that it is more than likely that the difference lies with that.

The other reason could be due to the tyre pressure being wrong.

hope that helps

aside from getting a large profile of tyre - which would scupper handling and possibly foul the body work, I'm not sure I'm afraid dude. Sorry
