Default amplifier

hi all
ive finally got my sub and amps all wired up and working but theres one problem i need help with.
ive got my 2 front speakers wired up to my jbl 600 amplifier and when the x over switch to off or either to hp when the stereo is turned down its making a loud funny noise but when i switch it to the lp setting it goes off but theres more sound coming out of my rear speaker than there is out of the 2 front connected to the amp. they seem to have more bassy sound that anything else.
can anyone help please.
hop this makes sence to you. cheers

the best way i could really describe the noise is like when youre searching for a radio station and you get like that really bad crackling sound.

As said mate, i would put my money on it being a bad earth.

However, normally you get a whiring noise through them, and sometime you get static, i.e. when your indicators flash, or when you put the lights on etc.

Get a good earth to it, then if it still doesnt work come back to us
