Construction industry
hey just wondering if there was anyone from sax-p being hit hard and there jobs at risk with the lack of house sales,due to the banks being up sh!t creeck!its pretty serious up scotland way alot of building companys shutting up shop,im safe just now but the question is for how long!

yeah for some reason the sparkys in our company still have alot to do but i think thats due to them raggling the houses after plumbing and roughing is done and my uncle is a bricky from fife and there pretty dry just now and rekons that they only have few months left! i suppose it all depends on who you are working with and how much work you have on! there talkin about this lasting maybe into next year so a cant see there being enough work to last till then. gouverment needs to step in i think!

There's only so much the government can do to stop it all going tits up!
Cannot believe how dead the housing market has been - the flat downstairs has been up for sale and to let for 6 months, and hardly any interest!
This time last year, it would have been snapped up like that!

yeah its scary man! there is a building company up here in fife that are handing out a brand new polo to everyone that buys one of there houses lol thats how bad it is

company i work for do a lot of work for the housing association so its not too bad! and they are building houses down on the sea front for fun  not the housing association!

works gone quit for us aswell.
i do the site investigation with a cable drilling rig to test its hard enough for the houses etc to be built. luckily theres something else we have planned so not too bad

im a sparky,....
alot of people down here seem to be going under aswell, especially the big established companies.
im pretty lucky though as the company i work fr either does alot of industrial and small domestic meaning that dont really have alot to do with new builds.
do alot in schools aswell so thats not gunna stop

Im an apprentice Sparks down here just coming into my last year, still quite alot of work for our firm, so much that i work on my own most days of the week. and still looking for another person to be employed!

its the same here across the waters everyhings slowed up and construction has stopped..house prices are dropping but everything else going up?? nobody has any free cash and everyone wants trades car wise..hence why my car is stilll for sale
im just finished uni and am buying a house with my boyfriend and all this talk is scaring me

me and my old man have enough, to see us to september.....
but there old customers no new ones.......
also one of the cheapest builders around are aera, cheaper than some pols lol.....
at the start of the year, we had no work for 3 months, a mate of my dads owns a diggers and hire's them out, he busy 24/7 easily on a grand a day (driver+machine) and has something like 10 machines all on site........
