Exclamation Urgent Help Needed! **update**

Hey guys,

Right this is the problem

When im driving along my boot is banging, bloke i bought it off said the bracket which the lock secures to needed moving down abit....

But ive only just noticed today that its not banging its opening!!

Got homw and my boot just lifted up, did not have to push the button (boot was shut but not locked prior to realising this)

So i thought id co back out and lock the doors (which also locks the boot as i checkd)

Went for a drive, still banging, climbed out through the window to find the boot was open again!!!!!!

Anyone got any bloody ideas what this is???

Could it just be a case of moving the bracket which the locks attachs to down abit or is it something a little more serious???

Any answers would be great guys!!

THANKS!!!!

Rep for help

Hey guys, thanks for all the replys, the actual boot is shuting and securing but is coming loose when im driving!

And to top it of, it just opened as i pulled away from a roundabout lol!!

Ive sprayed it all with WD40 to loosen to nuts (its abit rusty) and im going to go out tomoro and try and move the bracket around a little!

Ill update in here when ive sorted it (hopefully)!!

Right,

I think its the lock that is buggerd, ive had all the trim off and ive been adjusting the bracket that the lock latchs onto and ive had no luck!

Had a play about with the lock and when it goes to wrap around the bar to securew ti seems to only go half way instead of looping round, i pushed it in with my key and it does go all the way round, just wont when you close the boot.....

Taking it to a garage tomorow for them to have a peek at it!

Ive got it so it stays locked but it still bangs and opens when im driving, to top it off the actuall boot fully opened when i pulled away from a roundabout last nyt!!!!!

I tired that as i thought it would work, but as i tried to exlain above with the lock not actually fully going bound the securing bar, even if you lock it it still has a gap, if that makes sense...... so then when it bangs it bangs off the lock and doesnt just secure and un secure again lol

God i have no luck my old one would not lock lol!

ill see what my friends garage says and update here again if and when i get it sorted!

Also i forgot to mention, i think it could also be a problem with how the boot is lined up, as on the drivers side the rubber stop sits nicely on the shell of the car, but on the passenger side it sits abit 0.5 - 1.0 cm's above the shell
