Check to see how tight your aux belt is, could find that the bottom pulley rubber is reaching end of its life and need to replace the bottom pulley.

1. Has anyone considered this could be the thrust bearing!
2. Usually the screeching or whining would be if the alternator belt was loose or if the tensioner is on it's way out.
3. It could also be the fan casing, if it's catching anywhere it could cause either the belt to slip or the bearings may be shot!!
Hope this helps!

Just trying to eliminate things, it does sound like a bearing though. It could still be the thrust bearing(for the clutch) as it can rattle if it's dried out or if it's collapsing. This will be worst case though!! other than that I would try to pin point the noise with the bonnet up first off!

the noise on his video sounds identicle to mine when my engine is reving down. i no mine is the power steering pump as i had a garage look at it the other day and they told me it was shafted.
but saying that it could be something else with his but my money is on the power steeering pump
