Changing a Cat tonight on a VW Golf, just wondered if you can still take the old cat to the scrappies for money? if so what sort of money can they offer you in return?

it varies mate... i would hold on to it for now as the price of scrap is wayyy down!!!

however you can take it to a scrappers for instance...

is the platinum inside they want... and price depends on it being aftermarket or original cat...

still an original working cat, just the pipe around it that corroded through...might keep hold of it and take it to the scrappies at a later date

yeah that sounds good mate.... the corroded part does not matter,, they just want whats inside....

serious though scrap was like 200 quid a tonne its about 100 quid now (steel)

hopefully will rise again then bosh it in... id expect to get 40-50 quid possibly mate if you take it at the right time and to the right place...

maybe more
