Pads for Hi-spec calipers (285mm) Racing only!
Hi peeps.
I need some help please. I'm about to order a lovely set of Hi-spec 4 pots, which come with all the parts needed for a full conversion. Anyhow, I'm at a bit of a loss with regard to brake pad choices.
I was planning to go for Ferodo DS 2500 pads, but AlexR has pointed out that these are not available for the 285mm Hi-psec calipers. I then considered Mintex 1155 pads, but AlexR pointed out that these weren't really all that. Now as far as racing pads go, the only other ones which come with the brake kit are Redstuff and Yellowstuff. I don't know what to do! Are there others that are just not listed with the kit? I'm lost...

Ive just got my hands on some hi-specs.
From looking at this: http://www.saxosportsclub.com/Forums...ic/t=8950.html
I had a search and think i'm going to end up going for a set of these for my hi specs:
http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/m2...l?currency=GBP
Or just some standard volvo pads for like £10 for the time being.
People rave about 1144's so I'm thinking the above should be good! If i order them soon i'll let you know how i get on.

Thanks for the link. I didn't realise Mintex 1155 pads were not road legal! Just as well I didn't go for them, as I'm not taking my car off the road, even though it's barely going to be driven on the road. Hmm, this is interesting, I somehow need to find a road legal racing pad. Eeek. Help peeps.

Ferodo are normal really helpful. They make tones of custom pads. Just give them a call on 01274 723481. Its a shame your not local to them as you could have just popped in.

I don't get it. If the pads are not road legal, then my insurance will be void. What's an MOT got to do with this?

They're really that good are they?
