Master cylinder questions
Hi folks.
I would really appreciate if someone could answer the following questions for me:
Is the master cylinder in my 106 (mk2) the same as the one in the mk1 version? Pressumably the Saxo's are identical? Also, what's the size of the piston? I forgot...
Many thanks!

Yes, my car is a 106 GTI mk2. Does it use the same MC as the as a 106 GTI mk1? Does it use the same MC as a Saxo VTS MK1 / mk2? All I know *apparently* is that the Saxo VTS (early OR late version, I don't know) uses a 22.6mm MC. I need some exact stats...

OK. Is that the MK1 or MK2? Or does it not matter? Is the 106 GTI the same as the VTS?

mk2 for sure, 99.9% the mk1 is the same.
Not showing it listed any different on the websites i use.
for the gti and rallye am showing as 20.6mm which i dont think is 100% correct.
What does it say on the one you have 22?

No worries Manc, appreciate the help anyway.
Steve, are you saying that the exact measurement is printed on the MC itself?

no the master cylinder simply will have 20 / 22 /23 printed on it, they dont have the .4 or .8 afterwards.
brakeparts.co.uk is a good site for sizes, however it doesnt have the 106gti one listed properly.

Sweet. I will have a look under the bonnet this evening.
Cheers for the assistance.
In the meantime, if anyone knows if there is a difference between the MK1 and MK2 or not, please can you let me know. Ta.
