Default engine & gearbox mounts..

just wondering if anybody can clear this up 4me i think that i need to replace all th mounts engine+gearbox on my 03 vtr i can literally push and pull the engine back and forth quite a bit i mentioned it to a guy i kno[mechanic]and he said that because they have all basically had it that i would loose sum of the pull my engine gives to the wheels because the engine moves quite a lot when u put your foot down and if its not held in place nice and tight the car would feel less powerfull and loose torque wa does anybody reckon about this true or?????

Default engine mounts

if u grab top of engine and can move it bk and forward quite a bit i would replace the eng and gearbox mount under battery, the lower one i would purchase a poly bush, best way to tell is gt sum1 in car wif handbrake on and u wif bonnet up lukin at eng, gt him/her to put it in gear and let clutch out till biting point and see how much eng moves. Lower rear eng mount common thats why i would poly bush it mate

If engine moves alot then will bw the main mount at ecu and also one under battery. There should be a small amount of play on standard ones and to be fair on a near standard car there fine. You will loose some of the engines pull if there loose or broken so its an idea to get some new ones..

on standard mounts the engine will move a bit in the bay
mine used to move around 2" forward and backwards at the top in my vts when it was cammed and idleing

you can uprate for better mounts
the only thing is some stiffer mounts cause vibrations in the car

i wouldnt really worry about that unless you get group n of stiffer but have seen guys moan about powerflex items
