Default what to do?? CAR CHOICES

i have a 1999 vtr in posi blue, insure for another 7 months fully comp insurance but on the gf dads everything is paid for.

have a 2000 vtr in wicked red which i am doing up, and have a load of custom modifications for it.

i applied for finance on a 2006 VW golf 1.4 and got accepted.

its £165 a month for the car, and £130 a month insurance because i need a new policy.

i also have £1900 left to pay off a holiday by april.

do i:

sell the vtrs and all the parts and get about £2500 for everything including the cars, and take the golf

or stick with the vtr, do the one up and pay off the holiday and stick with the french heap for another year????

also i do 500 miles a week to and from work, so need something economical

Personally I'd stick with the french shit because it will be a lot less stressful financially! Surely the 1.4 Golf feels ridiculously underpowered?

had this conversation with a mate of mine, he wants a 1.4 Golf, the golf is to under powered for a relatively heavy car. but then there is the advantage of the reliability.

Wouldnt get the golf.

Firstly because thats 300 odd a month just to insure and pay off the car.

Secondly, finance is pap.

Not becuase im on a saxo forum here, but i would keep the saxo! 1.4 golf would feel so under powered compared the the VTR and in the end it would just piss you off! Im guessing! Finance does suck big ones too!

id go for the golf only if you get a 1.8 upwards anything below is quite slow tbh so keep the saxo unless you can afford to get bigger engine imo

ive had a golf before and now i have a saxo. If i was you Sell everything and buy a 1.4 saxo get it gas converted you can get some serious speeds out of em mate. Mine is Marine Orange but im rollin on green 16s. Ive reached top speeds of about 400 mph i think only one car over took me that day.
