if you put a vts gearbox in a vtr what would the outcome be - faster accel or higher top end?

 Im fitting a vts box to a vtr on sunday. does anyone that has done this know if its a straight swap? i thought it was but have been told the outer cases are different so it wont fit?

i toyed with the idea of putting my S box on when i changed my clutch.... Glad it doesnt make much differnence otherwise i would be out there changing it now lol

fitted box today, 4th gear and reverse wont engage...mates dad is going to look at it tomorrow, hope its fitted wrong and its not just a fucked box ive bought!
any ideas as to why 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th will enagage but not 4th and reverse?!

ummm i think they're ok, although it was my mate who fitted it for me so i cant be 100%, however he fitted it all back on how the old box came off so i cant see thats anything is wrong.....

Can anyone think of any reason why this might happen other than the gearbox being f*cked?
I have been told the gearbox is knackered but i want to elimiante any other possibilities before i contac the peron i bought it from
