personlly id look at newmans cams....

way cheap than most brands, still high quality and really good serivce.

£165, well worth doing imo

will also need a venier pulley and remap (can run with out the remap but will idle badly, unless you adjust the timing with the venier pulley spot on)

Not professing to be any kind of expert, but I've been looking into this for a while now and here's the options I've come up with:

Kent PT30/ Newman PH1 - should give an ok increase in power when combined with breathing mods. Both fairly mild cams so it's not going to give you major problems when selling the car on. A remap isn't mandatory, but would help get the most from the cam. I've seen two cars on here make in the region of 120bhp with the PT30 and PH1 - both 90bhp engines, one with a remap and one without.

Kent PT40 - From my understanding, this cam is between a Newman PH1 and PH3 in terms of specs. Heard from both 1.4 and 1.6 owners that it will run and drive fine without a remap. I'm looking into getting one these with a vernier pulley - trying to avoid the costs of a remap, but will see how I get on.

Newman PH3 - Not found much info on this, but evans1089 claims his idles and drives ok on the standard map. As it's quite a lairy cam, the power band is moved further up the range... would be best to remap and raise the rev limit to 7k to compensate for this.
