Default engine rebuild

gonna rebuild the bottom end of my 16v engine, as cant be arsed with just wedging another lump in again . . any one know of a step by step guide of doing it anywhere online ? ? just want something to educate me further so know what to replace and to fall back on incase come across any problems.
any help much appreciated cheers .

A generic 4 cylinder engine rebuild guide will tell you have to do 90% of the things
about measuring up clearances etc.

I've got a couple of good books about rebuilding engines - search on Amazon, will be a great help too.
