Hi everyone,
Citroën madman here! Just bought a Saxo as a run-around to while I do some project work on the house for a year and don't want to mess up the C5. So although I have 5000 years no claims on the latter, I have to start again on the new little might which is:
2000 reg, Forte, 1.1, 3dr green, 57000 miles.
I'm gonna change the cambelt immediately (DIY) and learn, no doubt, what else is wrong within the next few days. No doubt the clutch, alternator, CH gasket and a few other things will be problematic, but on inspection they all seemed fine.
Have had a Xantia and AX before these two. Am hoping to fit a towbar onto the 1.1 (ahem) just to pull a light trailer full of old plaster etc.
Cheers, and thanks for having me
Ian

Well feel a bit of a fraud now. Turns out the car I was about to but was a Cat C, insurance write off. Not that there's anything wrong with them in particular if they're checked over properly, but the 1.1 I was about to buy also had an issue over the keeper. Both matters were not declared from the outset, so I ran a mile!
So am now on the look out for a cheap 1.1 manual Saxo or 1.4 automatic. Don't mind Cat C as long as I know beforehand. Will have to keep posting so I can take a look in the Sale and Wanted section eventually
