Free Loaders!!!
people who our all take and no give! pisses me off most people i know work with or generally come across in my life are like this. almost every one i know wants favers so you be nice do a good deed and all you get in retern is promisses.
many people in the past ive done electrics for 3/4 sockets put in hear and there, things wiered up, shandalears put up all sorts and its took money and plenty of time out of my own pocket but i've done it for free as a friend and after its not even apreciated. a mum and her daughter were stranded last week out side my work place with a flat tyer, they had a saxo vtr as i did so i drove home got my spare wheel because they didn't have one drove back fitted it for them saw them off left with nouthing but a promiss ill get my tyer back next day and a broken tyer iron as it broke doing up the last nut lol. they droped the tyer off about a week later. people at work need lifts constantly and its not appreciated, why the fuck they work there nowing they have no form of transport or cant save enough money for the bus. just loads of things big and small and when the day comes i need a faver they all turn the backs or the phones off
my familly all ways tell me im to nice for my own good and got to big a heart for the likes of people these days. the saying you don't get any wear being nice is so true but so is don't misstake kind ness for weakness lol
do any of you lot find that most people you know are like this? or am i just surounded by freeloaders Not including my family and gf/her famially obviously i dont expect nouthing in return off people that close to you as thats what familly are for more close friends and work colleagues.

Ha, mate I hear what you're saying. I am there for everyone when I am needed.
There are a lot of unappreciative users out there. Good people will usually appreciate your effort. You just have give your time to those who have said thanks in the past or returned the favour and also learn to be a bit more selfish without feeling guilty.

i know exactly what you mean, the same applies with me and computers as im always expected to help and quite rightly do whenver i can such as fixing something or researching something for someone. It really is sad when you dont feel apreciated or even covered for being out of pocket yourself, the worst is when you dont get favors done for yourself when you ask
I usually treat it as il do a favor for you and next time just do me a favor ie not counting but you know, saying can you borrow me this or something etc.
Anyway not everyones like that and when you get appreciated it just makes it that much more worth it KEEP at it, end of day if they arent really friends etc then just say i need to charge though, atleast to keep yourself covered never try and go out of pocket

Need to start saying no mate, i usually do everything for people, and the just take the piss, next time some slut pulls up outside your works tell her sorry cant stop going to a funeral, FUCK THEM ALL give them some of the shit, Also my motto is "Treat as your treated" if someone is good to you be good to them, if someones a prick to you be a prick to them

You can't give people freebies, as their is no such thing as a favor returned.
If people want a lift, charge them £5 for the cost of petrol.
If people want something fixing, charge a call out fee and if they moan about it. Just tell them they could be paying over the odds for someone else to do it for them.
I learnt the hard way and got to a point where I was fed up of people taking me for a ride, I don't mind doing things for family as they can't hide from you. But friends now have to pay their way. I know it seems harsh to charge someone for a small job, but at the end of the day it's your skills they are hiring and should feel themselfs lucky they get it so cheap.
I charge the below to people and they are happy to pay it now, but wasn't when I first started.
Lift = £5 if on own, if more than 1 person and depending on where they live its split.
Car fixing = Flat rate of £30 per day and they pay for parts
IT problems = £25 call out charge & £15 per hour I'm fixing, I remind them it costs about £45 for a back street job on their machine.

Either start charging people or just don't do it mate.
Other than that, ask yourself why you are doing it... If you are doing it because you are genuinely kind and not for a return favour, then I guess it shouldn't matter if people return the favour or not... If I do something, I make sure I'm doing it and that their gratitude is enough, and try not to expect anything back. I know it doesn't always work that way, and I know it's shite when people don't help, but hey, you are the better person than them, and we can't go judging others by our own standards. Just live knowing that you are the kinder of them all.
