Info about machine polishing!
Im getting a mags g220 polisher and need ideas for some pads and polishes, etc. Wayne has given me some info about how to use it and the pads and polishes i will need but just wundered if anyone wanted to give me some more info as ive never done it before and need all the help i can get. These are what waynes choices are!
for polish get these two polishes, http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_217.html
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_229.html
pads these ones
cutting pad
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/produc...roducts_id=542
polishing pad
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/produc...roducts_id=543
4 inch pads for smaller pads
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ds-polish.html
get the light cutting and polishing pad for small pads
backing plate for smaller pads
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...es-polish.html
thats all you will need for polishing your saxo tbh
start with the polishing pad and Menzerna Final Finishing polish, start in a small area to start with, start on speed 1 to spreed polish, then up to speed 4 to start cutting process for a minute then speed 5, then when the polish goes clear refine on speed 2 the buff off, do a test panel a 2x2 area. If that don't work go up to cutting pad and intensive polish do the same method and then refine with final finishing polish with the same method, hope that explains everything tbh. Remember light pressure so the pad keeps spining do not apply heavy pressure as it'll do nothing tbh.

None of the links are working for me mate lol
Wayne is the man when it comes to detailing, he gives great advice. Ive played around with lots of pads polish combos and personally i like using sonus sfx pads or meguiars pads and i always use the menzerna polishes (intensive and final finish)
On the small areas i use sonus spot pads but will be buying the menzerna ones as wayne tells me they are much better.
I also have the megs g220 machine, it obviously isnt as quick as a rotary polisher but it gives awesome results (coming from a perfectionist here).

The links that work are in my other thread http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=239904! He's suggested megs pads for the bigger one with merenza polsh which seem very good from the read up and lake country smaller pads. Ye seems to know alot of what hes talking about and very helpfull tbh.

What is the difference between these as wayne told me to get this http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/produc...roducts_id=543 But was going to get the same from cyc as getting most of stuff there and though would save some money on postage but the one from elite is same model number apart from having a b at end and this one not http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_543.html

Right ok thanks. Ive just bought the lake country spot pads and backing plate now just need to get everything else from cyc. I bought some buffing clothes, xxx hardcore wax, microfibre pads and foam pads and gave me a free foam pad with my order and came quick so though i will save money by getting most with buying pads from them instead of different companys.

i would adjust your order for the reason that the car will be covered in dust after the machine polish. also, if your doing paint correction (scratch removal) then id split that up over two days as the polishing will take it out of you... (i spent 8 hours just correcting my bonnet today and it still not 100%)
Rinse
Wash
Clay (megs)
Should i wash again? - Rinse
Dry
Tape up car
Polish with G220 (menzerna polsh, megs+lake country pads)
Rinse
Seal (ag sealent)
Wax (chem guys xxx hardcore) couple of coats i think - one coat should be fine after all that
do what you want though bud, just some suggestions

1. Wash with bucket and sponge
2. Rinse
3. Spend the money on something more manly like a moustache, or some coilovers!
Seriously, we've got saxos not lambos!
