Default disconnected downstream Lambda

Noticed that i have a lambda sensor after the CAT which has been cut off, ive read that this 1 is not required, something to do with depollution or somethin, just looking for confirmation, its a 1997 mk1 VTS.

I think the 2nd sensor is only there to make sure the frst sensor is doing it's job and it's working okay. I would expect MIL light to come on if 2nd one is missing/cutt off.

Hi, the second sensor is for 2001 models onwards to meet more stringent emissions standards (depollution). It monitors the efficiency of the catalytic converter.

Sounds like you have an exhaust for a later model. No problems with it being disconnected on your car as the ECU is not monitoring it.

Hi Pickles,

So your car is now running properly - dashboard ok, no starting running problems.

Just leaves that oil pressure sensor to find...
