Default Hole in exhaust.. being ripped off?

Last night a small hole in my exhaust turned into a big one and my car sounded like a subaru.

The hole is at the front, underneath the engine where it curves down. There is a lose thing that is hanging down, that was connected to the exhaust. Is it some sort of sensor?

Anyway, I got quoted £160 to have it done, and £210 by another garage.

Could I buy the parts cheaper myself and get it done?

Sensor fell out, downpipe has a big hole in it where the sensor was connected.

If it's rusted through, and a chunk of your manifold/downpipe has fallen off I'd personally go looking for an aftermarket manifold.

OMG mate Ripped off, i had teh exact same problem, i went to my local garage they done a tempary fix untill they could fit me in, so all they dont was used some putty, a piece of metal sheet and jubilee clips to hold it and keep flow smooth, and then they just welded it back on for £35

Just get them to weld the sensor back on
