You could try cleaning the idle control valve. Here is a guide: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=174710
Otherwise, could be a coolant or air temperature sensor.

Bump... had this problem when i just drove home from work.. its a 40 min drive... i had my music on so i didnt even know it cut out... it was only when i lifted clutch and pressed accelerator at an island, i realised i wasnt going any where lol.... i jus turned it back on and it was fine for ten minutes... then it did it again at another junction ... then it didnt do it again .... im going to keep an eye on it ...
my car does bounce on the revs sometimes on its own ... like when crawling its like the cars gone mental and the revs just bounce up and down on there own and then it bounces too low and cuts out ... im having a full service next friday so it should get sorted - hopefully !

mine did this, you either have a split on a air hose. Check all of them. Or if that doesnt work raise the idle point, where the cable goes through a rubber bit with a metal prong holding it in place. move that along 1 notch.

Oh no!! please dont tell me saxo's do this too!
i had the same problem with my old mk4 fiesta!
i would slow down at a junction, and the engine will rev really high then cut out, then i would flick it on again, and it will be fine until next time... makes you look a right twat when you are stopped at the lights and an old woman is walking infront of the car, and it starts revving its ass off!
i bought a new idle control valve and swapped it over, and it made no difference. then the car started to drive itself, i would basically set off in 1st as normal, then all i had to do was use the clutch to charge gears, the car would do the rest. had to ride the brake sometimes, but it generally stayed within 40 mph. was a bit of a bad thing really, but good after a hard days work, and got driven home by my car! my mates all took the piss saud i had a herby or a ghost or something!
didnt fix it in the end, the car just revved its self too much one day at the lights and blew up! paid £200 for the car, drove it for 4 months, bought an idle control valve £20, thats it, and scrapped it for £120! happy days!
hope yours ends happier than mine did!
just hope i dont get the same problem with the westie!

got my car back form the garage today. and the problem with mine is the throttle control sensor. some idiot in the past thought it would be a better idea to hold it on with a cable tie with it being broken so i will need a new one.
