Lens
I didnt know how to title this.
I asked Ads earlier, but i forgot what he said.
With £250 to play with, looking at the Canon 17-50 is it?
Then look at the 50mm f/1.8 as you can get em for under £70 new. But ads said the f1.4 ums one, which is as expensive as the one above?

My £250 did well.
For £220 I just landed a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens and Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM
As well as some welding glass for a 10stop filter for £1.
A Lowpro Nova 4 bag.
I dislike owning a camera already.

If I would have seen that 3 days ago I would have bought the lot!
Hopefully that will tie my over for a long time. Just need a decent size / speed CF card to finish it off. Any maybe a new tripod as I dismantled mine in making a car rig

Best thing is buy expensive.
L glass holds its value, cheap glass doesnt and is hard to shift. Unless its cheap shit which noobs want a lens for £30.
Im buying another fisheye so gotta sell my current one now
The only problem with more gear is you really want it insured etc.. and when you start to get at 5-10k replacement value its nt fun looking at insurance.

Its been added to my house insurance but also have been added to seperate insurance.
Alot of companies wont cover items of this value on house insurance if its away from the premises..
New fish because 1D doesnt work with the DC 10mm siggy.

Insurance had never crossed my mind..
I will have to ask my Dad to stick it on the house insurance if there as any room for it. I think we are covered for £3,000 with respect to belongings, or 15 items or something like that.

be very careful reading the small print with contents insurance related to camera gear mate - should be ok but sometimes there are certain restrictions and that.
Wicked purchases for the cash nice one and enjoy!

I couldnt remember if you rated or slated the 17-85 but I thought for £160, when I couldnt find one below £230 I couldnt go wrong, so paid over for the 50mm a little, but i dont mind. Cannot wait to get it all now.
