police taken car of me
i had a asection 59 about 6months ago on my bike and i was driving the saxo yesterdai and i overtook a car and the police said it was reclous driving so they gave me a section 59 again and because now i had 2 they impounded my car i was wondering if i can get the car back or do they crush it has any1 had this happen to them thanks ian

Well, was it a stupid overtake or not? And if I'm right a Section 59 is on the vehicle, not the license.

They should have informed you how to get it back, you go to the impound, and pay £120 + £12 a day for the car to be stored, then you get it back.. Take your insurance and stuff down there with you aswell

your £175 for the recovery truck to take your car away + £27 a day after that up here!!! and after 14days if you aint paid it gets auctioned or crushed

cheers so i should get it back it wasnt a stupid overtakin thing i was on a street with two lanes and a car was indacation left to pull over so i went around the car when it was pulling over and the police are saying that was dangrous driving nobheads i hate them

tbh all this section 59 thing is a load of shit. it's somthing the police can give anyone for any reason and you cant do anything about it.
but was the over taking safe? or did you deserve it?

section 59's are abused by coppers. somthing really has to be done. thers so many people getting them for naff all. descrimination against young drivers.

my mate got his 106gti impounded and cost £150 to get it back, he managed to get it back the next day luckly.
