Default photo's at night.

im all new to this taking phots buisness so at the moment im rubbish imo lol what it is i need help on is when im taking pictures at night everything is soo grainy and it sometimes ruins the pictures.. .

so anyone got any techniques or tips they could share, or is there a program i could edit the photographs with and basically as any one got any tips for making my photos stand out better ?

what are you wanting at night.

use flash or long exposure iso generally needs to come up to get ambient in for some stuff but not for others etc..

I shoot manual

forgot all about me putting this thread up... its a sony alpha 300 not the greatest camera but its my first slr so trying to get the hang of it, but the phots at night a really grainy and all the blacks look fuzzy and ruins the pictures.

Lower your ISO to about 400 and then make sure you use a really wide aperture. also you want to be using a slow shutter. take a few photos using various shutter speeds with a wide aperture n iso400 and see what the outcome is. Also when doing this use a tripod!!

ps. use adobe photoshop lightroom. its great!! can get the free trial on the adobe website

thanks for your help matey much appreciated ill give it ago when i get the chance at weekend or something ill give that program ago aswell
