Right im getting a camera for xmas but i cant decide which one to get and which is going to be the best there are 3 i have been looking at and just wounded what you thought of the 3

the 3 are

canon 1000d
canon 450d
nixon d5000


please help

1000D are hard to get hold of now.

450D out of the lot, although personally id get a second hand 30/40D.

yeah been looking at 2nd hand but my mrs will only buy new

i was thinking more the 450d but wasnt 100% sure

what makes the 450 better than the rest?

The fact the 1000D you can hardly get hold of.

and the nixon (nikon) lenses are more expensive for the 'amateur' consumer.

id go with the 450d they are selling 1000d in asda but like ryan id buy a second hand 40d
