Default my engine light came on today!!

hiya everyone,
my engine light came on today when i was driving home from work and has stayed on for the remainder of the journey home.the car ran absolutely fine...is my car dying or am i being over dramatic?some1 give me the options please!

not as far as i know and was planning to do it in the next month,only bought the car 2 weeks ago.has only dun 50,000 miles and 02 plate.oil and water is good and engine seems to look fine...any suggestions??

Might just be a short somehwere? Temperature gauge not sitting higher than normal is it?

no temp is bang in middle...and car seems to be driving fine aswell?

mine was on 55,000 when i got it and its on 93,000 and no engine trouble whatsoever wouldnt worry mate it just becomes an annoyin light lol

Get it checked out at the service mate best option. I know how you feel cos I would hate driving it waiting for something to happen.

i got my car checked and apparently its either the cat or the oxygen sensor...the light was turned off and still hasnt come back on so is it worth having the work dun?

My engine light came on and it was the cat. So not a big problem

the light came on my mates car before, it was on for a few days and we took it out ragged it abit and it turned itself off! lol
