Problems already!
Iya, finally picked up my Saxo today and drove it home quite a distance. Obviously I wanted to see what it could do so screwed it abit.
Anyway, when I first went to look at the car, I noticed the exhaust sounded a bit blowy but thought nout of it .. got it home and it's getting louder each time I drive it now.
It seems to be coming from the bit underneath where I'm sat, not the back.
Would you say it's most likely just a part or a hole or is it too hard to predict as you can't see the car lol?
What I also could do with knowing is, if it is beyond repair, how much am I looking at for a new exhaust system and would it be worth getting a performance one for better driving?
..
Also, noticing a slight misfiring problem in certain gears and seems to be only when I put my foot down, it sort of pulls back then goes for it like it's dragging shit through the engine :/
Is this a common problem with the Saxos? Could it just be the plugs and leads?
Car is a Saxo Furio 1.4i, X Reg (44k miles)
Much appreciated any help n comments
Thanks :-)

Like Baz said, there is proberly a hole in the exhaust or a joint maybe loose.
As for the misfiring, it could be a faulty coilpack. Aslo take the throttle body off and give it a good clean and all the sensors

I had a mis-firing problem for about 10 months, and nobody could find the problem. Change alot of the relevant sensors etc and cleaned the throttle body a number of times. Took it to a different garage and by pot luck they noticed the wiring on the throttle position sensor had split. Re-soldered all the wiring and it has ran like a dream. Might not be your case, but it's definatly an option to look at.

does this model have 2 lambda sensors?? if so the hole in the exhaust could be letting loads of air through wich confuses them which could be your answer. worth a try i think? fix exhaust first then see.

Haha, that's what I was like at first. But it's annoying when you're putting the car on the drive at about 1am and waking all the neighbours up lol.
Does this not affect the engine performance anyway?
