What Pipercross? Open or enclosed?
Anywhere upto around 10bhp is achievable from breathing modifications

open isnt good, get an enclosed, and a cold air feed to it, reduce the heat soak.
by the time youve bought a cam mate, you could have thrown a vts in there lol

After how long did you pull away?
And things like the driver, how well its been maintained, driver weight, stuff in the car weight. Most cars lose a few BHP over time aswell. There really is nothing in it, suppose it helped a bit and you where probably the better driver

Believe me the 90 and 98bhp models there is a fairly noticeable difference all round, mind you my last 98bhp saxo was stripped.

i keep reading posts on various topics about power gains and people are stating 8bhp etc etc.
I run in the stock hatch championship with a Saxo VTR with about 35 other VTRs were all get about 120-130 bhp on our stock engine and we still have to use standard induction filters and inlets.
my car is 127bhp and been checked on 3 rolling roads about and been the same give or take 2bhp
best engine combination is
Mk1 head on mk2 bottom end as it highers compression running a pugsport system on standard exhaust manifold and MBE ecu! thats all
you will find 50% of the championship run the same spec and get the same power.
