nice pics jim. Love the bokeh's that the 1.8's create, especially on the rolls royce badge pic.

Nice pics, you obv have skills
Went there about 3-4 years ago when i was 13/14. Wasnt really interested in cars then as I was too young, but would love to go back sometime as I think I would enjoy it a lot more (was bored when I went the first time!)

I would recommend the Haynes motor museum over this to be honest i was a little disappointed as Beaulieu is advertised as one of the best motoring museums, where as the Haynes one is hardly advertised and i felt had a better mix of cars. see pics from my thread from a while back

haha yeah lol is quite a good feature although im not sure i like the new focusing system if you use the normal ( ) 19 point AF setting it always focuses on the closest part of the subject rather than the main part of the subject. which pretty much means you have to use spot focus points

its a nice little bit of cheating, auto iso lol! shooting manual but not needing to worry about iso will improve alot of peoples work without them understanding why lol!
The focusing systems meant to be good I thought, I only use single point focus and turn off my assists on the mkII for the club stuff.

i will get some pics up in a bit mate, just running a batch resize through PS. but when testing it out at the weekend, just took a trip to the local lake and was shooting some swans. it would focus on the end of the beak rather than their eye (head) even though the head was the main part of the scene. There are like 6 other AF modes so it might be i just dont use the full AF one. Im hopefully off to brands hatch on thursday so will be able to give the AF a decent test. also play with a new feature which allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the Ai servo function when traking objects depending on how fast they are moving which sounds quite cool.

Had a look and it defo looks a lot more interesting.
More variation and decent cars, but Beaulieu has more fun cars like the Trotter's 3 wheeler and Uri Geller's spoon car.
Might check it out sometime

ive got the adjusting of ai servo tracking sensitivity. It doesnt change the speed at which it tracks, it does change how easy it is to fook up though lol

haha lol orly i will test it out. bollocks i didnt save the focus comparisions only shot i got was this from trip out to the lake. Maybe i need to adjust the camera presets, or it was bad lighting (should have been there 30mins earlier for sunset) or its just me being anal but for some reason i dont feel it is as sharp as some of the shots on my 10d

It's because the resolution of the 7d out-resolves the resolution of probably all of your lenses bar the 70-200 man - that's partly why the new version of the 70-200 f2.8 was announced.
Don't worry too much.. although, the other thing you might want to check is whether the body itself is slightly front or back focusing - easy enough to check, print off a piece of paper with a thin black line across it... angle it at 45deg to the camera... single point, centre focus. half shutter press. once it's got what it thinks is focus, switch to live view and then zoom in to max and adjust the lens manually to see how far out the camera was with focus.
should be ok though.

cool i will give that try cheers mate, i was thinking the same about lenses too. As on my 10d the lenses out surpassed the body meaning that when shooting raw on low iso with good glass i was getting the maxium out of it. however now with the 7d the body surpasses most of my lenses. I will do some test with it tomorrow before trying it out properly at Brands hatch. according to potn some 7d's have focusing issues, i just hope mine isnt one of them.

i had also seen a few bad reviews from owners, the thing is its under warranty and can be fiexed if so, so dont panic about it if it is.
