JP4 Covers. Prices, part numbers, all you need to know
Well more and more of these questions are being asked so i thought id post up something worthwhile
JP4 front cover
Part number = 0248 L6
Price inc VAT = £56.25
JP4 back cover
Part number = 0248 L7
Price inc VAT = £50.07
Please note that:
Both covers do come with brand new seals when bought new
Front cover also comes with oil filler cap
Replacement seal
Part number = 0249 A9
Price inc VAT = £5.78
Replacement oil filler cap
Part number = 0258 56
Price inc VAT = £3.62
Bolts
Part number = 0250 74
Price inc VAT = £0.13
Your existing J4 cover bolts are fine to use as measurment wise they are the same
If you want some new ones from somewhere else the measurements are:
M6 x 1mm thread pitch x 20mm thread length
Breather piping
Part number = 1192 W0
Price inc VAT = £36.14
Lastly coilpack cover parts
Coil Pack cover
Part number = 5964 35
Price inc VAT = £8.14
Coil pack cover screws (x6)
Part number = 6924 10
Price inc VAT = £0.41 each
Citroen badge
Part number = 1566 20
Price inc VAT £7.09
That should cover everything. Hope it helps

lol no problem, happy to help
All of the above are the part numbers for Citroen.
If anyone has a Peugeot closer to them and would like the equivalent part numbers from Pug ill dig those out too, the covers themselves are identical part numbers, its just the odds and sods that vary

Two questions. The breather pipe, do I need to fit the JP4 one? As these have a breather hole on both the front and back cover?
Question two, the seal that comes with the covers, this is a tight seal/gasket between the cover and the head I take it, so no silicon is needed like on the orignal J4 head to cover?

yes you need the jp4 breather hose.
no you dont need silicon as the rubber seal(s) is way superior to the vts rocker cover seals.

Thank god for the seal cos wow I was having fun with the silicon stuff on my original covers!

Other than the cosmetic benefit, is there any other advantage to fitting these over the standard vts ones?

The breather pipe... On my car now is rubber pipe with citroens amazing version of a jublee clip, on the one I got with the covers its plastic with them clip on fittings. The clip on fitting are too big for my breather (Blue arrows) etc and only fit the cover. How do I get around this? I tried to bend my plastic pipe to get it close to where it needs to be and it broke
So now I've gotta go get another, but what's best way of fitting this?
Matt

take both the breather pipes off (after the 'Y' piece)
And then replace them with some oil/fuel pipe and then some fuel pipe clamps or something along those lines.
Nothing to difficult about making them fit

Using MJ's pic - thanks BTW - I have the 2 pipes in the top right of the picure, leading to just one pipe. I have a blocker, so there's no 4th pipe. I want to buy some tubing to fit a proper catch tank, can anyone tell me what the correct tubing diameter is to fit over the centre piece / ditribution point showed in the middle of the pic?
