Default Indicator playing up

Hi when I indicate Left sometimes the green arrow flashes on the dash, sometimes it doesn't. I can't seem to find any pattern why it does this, or anyway to bodge it. It either works or doesn't work. But it always indicates on the car even if the light inside doesn't show.

So unless there is a way to fix this.. is it a new stalk? If so, I heard there's a guide on here on how to fit one, can someone show me where this is cheers.

new stalk mate (the bit you move to turn them on)

easy enough job, theres 2 torx screws on the panel under the wheel, then that drops down, the top pops off

When it doesn't flash, is there a quicker 'ticking' noise? If so you may just need to replace an extirior bulb as this reports a bulb failure or a damaged circuit. Usually a duff bulb though.

Yesterday mine didn't work for 10minutes.. No click, no inside light and no exterior light. Now it's working again though. Got me baffled!
