Default Fuel Filter Strap!

Right,

I need to replace the strap for my fuel filter on my gti, as it was a MOT failure. I have been told its a ball ache, but has anyone got any tips to fit one?

Cheers
Rich

it's a blue strap - around £1 from Citroen and 5 mins to replace.

Think I've passed 3 MOT's on two cars with a snapped strap. lol. I'm sure they must break during fitting.

When you replace the filter 99% of the time, the straps snap. Im sure theyre made to snap

2 min job to replace though... or tie wrap the filter in place

Got a new strap but can't seem to secure it. Think the one they supplied is too short or something? How does it go on? Or if you cable tie it, where are you securing it to? (sorry to drag up an old thread)

use a cable tie,

It's interesting your MOT station failed you on that, my fuel filter on the VTR is completely unsupported (held by the fuel lines) and they only gave my an advisory about it?

Where are you cable tying it to? The brake lines above I'm guessing but surely thats not adequately supported?

And yeah mine was free dangling, didn't even realise

I cable tied it in the end and its just passed. No advisory on it or anything. But I was trying to wrap it around the fuel filter as there are two holes on the base of the fuel tank, thought I was doing it wrong!
