Default need help with finding a fan switch

hi there i got a saxo of ebay as spares or repairs a 1.4 2001 furio i have fixed the problem i got it with but it started to over heat so i dropped the coolent out of it and flushed it as well.I filled it with water and bleeded it correctly for the time being and thats fine it doesnt over heat any more but when i leave it on idle and watch the temperature dial it heats up and when it does finally go over the max line the fan doesnt kick in ??. I have been researching about the fan switch it is under the top hose on them but i think theres the vtr engine in it as i drive a vtr saxo 2001 and it look pretty much the same apart from the inlet manifold when i was researching it said the 1.6 have a twin speed fan with a relay in the system well so has the 1.4 car and i just cant find the switch on it any ideas many thanks

Also mate, for your piece of mind the 1.4 engine has an aluminium block and the VTR a cast iron block but they look almost identical.
