Default vts-vts engine swap questions...............

Hi,i would like to know if i could swap a vts motor and ecu for another vts motor an ecu,they are both from the same year,the one in my car is on 112000mls and has a gearbox problem(no 3rd gear!),the other motor has done 65000mls and has a good box and clutch and is cammed not sure what make but the difference is night and day to the standard motor,the cammed 1 was running up until a crash,then the car was broken for parts,will there be any problems with alarm and imobilizer?,will i still have to have 1 of the ecs`s unlocked?,anything else iam not knowing about this swap would be helpfull thank you.....................

I think you can use your orig ECU if they are both the same socket. You would just need to swap over the ECU, Transponder, Imobiliser, Ignition barrel thing (little black thing that makes the ignition barrel look tidy that pics up your key) and Keyfob from the same car.

If using different ECU styles then you would need to unlock it to work with your key/imob etc.
