got myself an alpine t.v and ps2 slimline for the car on saturday...

wired it up all working fine and dandy untill i go to start the car.

If im sittin with the engine of playing the ps2 and start up it all turns off but the t.v auto comes back on...so does the ps2,BUT it doesnt go back onto were i was it turns off and goes back onto standby(does my box in)

any ideas how i can avoid this coz its becomeing a pain??

where are you taking the power from anyways?

take power from something that has a permanent power source. Or wire from teh battery

you must have taken the supply for the ps2 power supply from an ignition supply that drops away when cranking the car over the only way to get round this is to like scott said wire it to a perminant 12v supply. What inverter are you using??????

its an invertor i got with the ps2 off my pal...i used the power lead goin into the back of the head unit but on the caar side of the connector block...


i was thinkin i could run a power cable to the battery and put a switch on it so its not constantly drainin power from the battery when im not usein it?


would that work?

if it is one of the inverters with the plug socket on it then there should be an on and off switch on it, but i think that it would be worth running it to the battery anyway.

It would work from the battery,dunno whether you know but just make sure you fuse it

turns out im now swappin the t.v and power invertor for a sony mp3 player and a set of 15" wolfrace wheels....a broke the ps2 and there for i have no music lol


silly me..its not all its cracked up to be anyway !
