Default mk1 vtr Black top engine.

Hi all

Do the above engines have a knock sensor fitted?

Thanx.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

It would seem not:

TU5 JP INJECTION 90 HP AND BVM UNTIL RPO No. 07867 does not (that I could see) but
TU5 JP INJECTION 90 HP AND L3 VEHICLE TECHNICAL DEPOLLUTION AND BVM SINCE RPO No. 07868 definitely does.

No idea where the RPO number might be on a Mk1. It is on a label on the A pillar frame where the hinge is on the driver's door on a Mk2.

Hi Steve,

Could be down to a fuel mixture that is too lean = too much air or too little fuel.

Have you changed the fuel filter? You could try these guys: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=142 who will ultrasonically clean your injectors.

Difficult to know for sure what the problem is.
