usual breathing mods airfilter, exhaust, decat, cams/headwork depends how far you want to go. Strip out the interior to make it lighter. This will improve the acceleration. braking and handling of the car and best of all it's free.

Depends how much money you are looking to spend? If it does not have to be road legal you can quite happily get well over 160bhp normally aspirated out of it. Or if your going boost the worlds your oyster. I would probably go a good ported head, good exhaust, pocket the standard pistons, fit wild cam, solid rockers, uprated valve spring, adjustable cam pulley and predictor ECU. Then when you have some extra cash swap of to independent throttle bodies. It would requite a short gearbox preferable close ratio. If you hunt about you can pick them up used cheap enough from the race lads. My last few all went for under a grand each.
