Would you attempt to refurb these?
I have acquired some new wheels... They could do with a refurb as you can see they are pretty curbed and the lacquer has fucked up in some places.
I have read a few guides on here about it but the colour is kind of like chrome if that makes any sense doesn't seem to just be a silver im worried that if I sand it all down and start re-spraying them I will never get it as shiney as they are at the moment? The black bits are no problem I can tape that all up with the centre's aswel
Basically my initial steps would be -
sand - primer - spray with silver/chrome spray? - lacquer = decent finish?
obviously I have missed the wet n dry stages before coats but what would you recommend for getting them the same colour they were already? The wheels in question are these...

Your going to need adaptors? they will be 4x100pcd yea?
Are ATS polished not painted? I think you may need them to get done by a pro, or go for a full colour change, saw some black spokes and green dish that looked lush, in a magazine reciently.

Thats what im puzzled about im not sure if they are polished or painted, because they are pretty poor condition so not particularly shiny..

i think it would be worth getting the tyres/valves out and sending them for re polishing! many compaines that will mask them and refurb the in lays too!
i think they are polished and then laquered to prevent tarnishing the metal

They are polished as standard, like them wheels, prefer the ATS classics though!

Had the choice of either but think these suit mk2 golfs more.
I have just managed to find a few threads similar to this one & turns out they are diamond cut some guy managed to paint strip the lacquer off and used autosol on them & then lacquered them again. Think im going to give this a shot when im back from global gathering this weekend!

Little update boys I have done alot of the ball ache involved, removed all the shitty paint & lacquer, smoothed all the holes with filler which has hardened nicely, pretty pleased so far with the progress couple of pics...
Now im thinking of doing the deep rim a glossy dark red, this is because its going on a red & black themed golf.
I am going to get a machine polisher & get the middles to a very good finish as just by hand polishing I have managed to see some ok results.
What do you think I should do with the inner cuts of the rim that used to be black. I stripped it off and was thinking just polish the metal up or shall I re paint them black?
Suggestions welcomed.

you painting the rims then i take it? because they can't be polished or diamond cut once filler has been used
