Default power steering problem

My powersteering is sometimes working, sometimes not. When it does work I sometimes hear a high pitch "squeel" I guess is comming from it... any ideas what's wrong?

You aint working on the engine though... You would be working on the power steering pump.

Check there enough fluid in it first of all
