Unhappy wining noise from engine?

hi people.
my saxo vtr has a wineing noise which sounds like its from the gearbox?ive been told it could be the thrust bearing?but to be honest i dont no much about these things?it makes the noise evan when the clutch is pressd but goes when the clutch pedal is up?? has anybody any advise for me???

Sound slike its on its way out, try adjusting the clutch cable.

if it happens when the clutch is pressed then it will be the release bearing as this is when pressure is applied to the bearing.
Would get it replaced asap as you dont want that shattering leaving you without a clutch to get home

+1 if its making a whining noise its already nackered. get it replaced mite as well get a full new clutch kit. don't get a cheap one go with a valeo or a L.U.K and you will never see any problems mate. aslong as its fitted well.

just got new clutch kit with new release bearing 2day..hope when these are fitted friday

just bought a clutch kit 2day complete with release bearing`hope when this is fitted it would of solved my whining noise problem..then just got 2sort my leeky sunroof/airial...
