Default Magnet says no, its a 1.4 :)

Yesterday i had a saxp meet with a few sportifs and one vtr owner, I own a 1.4, I let the owner of the 1.6 8v give my car a go and he said its got to be a 1.6 due to how it went, i had a suspicion it could have been converted as prior to this car i have had a furio and it wouldnt stand a chance against this one.
It was either i had a vtr engine or it was mapped, i was told its been remapped but he didnt go into details so i didnt really beleive him.
Everything is pointing to the conversion simply because the speed of it and the fact i have 140mph dials in it that measure accurate.
For a start i could have never taken a furio past 105/110, in this i touched 120 and it could have kept going..

My question is:
How do i tell if ive had a vtr conversion?
What significant differences are there?
is there a different head size in mm?
an engine code somewhere?
certain wireing features?
Im not sure what to look for so anything a vtr has that a furio doesnt that i can see without taking the engine apart and getting a measuring jug out would be great!

Ive taken some pictures of the engine, as you can see its got a 3 plug ecu and a dipstic that sits to the right of the manifold.
Furio engines have the dipstic come up the front between the 4 pipes..
so this would suggest its a late vtr engine, however the late ones are single plug..
now im confused D:

Heres the number on the engine

Late VTR engines are 3 plugs, pre-2001 are single plugs..

As above, late engines are 3 plug. Earlier ones are single like mine.

Looks like you've either got a nippy furio or it's had a late vtr engine (98bhp standard).
