quick cabling question/query
my av output cable just got broke.. the pins on the connector to the ps3 have bent and it wont go back in, so looking for cables have seen a lot of good news about hdmi cables improving the sound and picture..
if i was to buy a hdmi cable and use this, would i still need the av output cable, or would the hdmi cable remove the need for this?
any help is much appreciated
asap too please, as got no ps3 atm
thank you

as long as your t.v has a hdmi port you wont need an av. cable if i were you i'd get a gold plated hdmi cable as its better

i didnt even no about the hdmi cable until the av cable broke ad looked throug the book to see whats what...
Some people have been saying sumtimes they cnt see or here when usinng the hdmi cable 1st time ad that u need to turn ps off and then hold down the on/off button for about 5 secs for it to reset itself.. In doing this will it reset all the data as in lose all my pics and game progress?
Cheers

When you get the HMDI cable connected switch you TV to the correct HDMI channel and then switch on PS3. You should get a message on screen along the lines of HDMI output detected do you want to autodetect? Choose yes and it'll sort it for you

Plug in your shiney new PS3
With your PS3 in standby (red light)
Hold your finger on the power on button for 5ish seconds, you PS3 will then find the best output for the HDMI cable
It will not effect any games or hard drive data.
