Default paint dust

the mrs has just got a new car and some cheap bastard has done a bit of a repair job and the paint work feels rough to touch,been told it is paint dust was wondering what can i use to get rid of it???

Not 100% sure what you mean but any newly painted surface i normaly use a rubbing compound depending on how rough, G3 or similar or t-cut. any pics?

Do not do this.



Sounds like overspray, an aggressive/medium clay should take it right off the paint no problem. Even a light clay might work, worked on mine.

You might marr the paint slightly when using the aggressive clay but they will polish out very easy.

On rubbing compund it does state on use with newly painted surfaces and worked for me.

I think he may have been referring to the actual products you used.....and tbh i wouldnt want any products touching my fresh paint for 6 weeks atleast.

As Mikey said......clay is a good place to start.

Ive used meguiars clay bar? is this same as you mentioned?? if so i never noticed any differ to before or after using the product, if anything the car seems to get dirtier easier.

Well your clearly doing something wrong, or not following up after claying with the necessary steps (polishing/protecting).

And yes I was on about the products you recommended but also the fact you would use abrasive compounds on paint that hasn't been de-contaminated when the paint clearly is contaminated.

it got done a while ago before she bought it,they had a new wing on so had to be sprayed,i have a detailing clay would that be any good?
