Default The future of mechanics

Im helping two of my mates strip out and prep a focus for auto tests at the moment, the one lad is in college and has been for about 5 months now doing motor vehical maintaince. I asked him for a ratchet with a torx fitment on it expecting the usual what a torx, however when he asked whats a rachet i was surprised. I then went to pick him up from college and the subject they were talking about was how to link their turbos to their batterys. These are the future people that will be fixing peoples brakes and MOTing cars in the future

cool story bro i know

A lad I know is a second year motor vehicle mechanic, he phoned me up saying he thinks there's something wrong with the car he bought the day before, I found this strange bearing in mind I have no qualifications relating to cars or mechanics.

So I went round and said What's up, he said there's gunk coming out of the engine. I opened the oil cap, sure enough full of mayo. I told him the head gasket is gone, to which I was asked What's a head gasket, how much does it cost and is it easy to fit. After I explained to him its a royal pain in the arse he asked me if it would be ok to leave it if he 'didnt rag It till its warm'

idiots take car mechanics as it requires no qualifications etc.. only the semi-intelligent ones actually follow it through as a career
