Aftermarket Driveshafts
Right following on the fact I'll need a new shaft prior to MOT, I'm aware that the driveshafts are a little weaker than perhaps they should be on a saxo.
I seem to recall some rather nice 'uprated' driveshafts somewhere which worked out cheaper than getting the genuine things from Citroen. But can't for the life of my find them in searches...
Any ideas?
Failing that, can anyone recommend a company that sell GOOD replacement shafts for le saxo?
Cheers,

Honest opinion... are they ok? No issues with them? Do they have the ABS ring?

I Honestly rate them, no probelms yet. They look stronger than standard shafts and they are a pefect fit. Only been running them a few months though.
I dont know about the ABS ring as mine dont have it anyway. Ring up and ask though, i think the blokes name is Chris and hes a really helpful guy!

I pay £34 + VAT for standard brand new shafts, and seeing as my car is low power I dont think I need uprated ones. I was looking into it before I bought the standard one though.
Is it not over kill in a NA car?
My problem is with it being so low.

For a few quid less than standard you get extra longevity, well worth it imo

From a friend that works at a large parts distributor. I get special discount.
I also got VTS ones by mistake as I could of sworn my car had ABS.

What shafts are you using now? Whatever shafts you got there will be a competition version from TRS

Im assuming VTR driveshafts as they've never been replaced. Aren't VTS/R one's the same?

VTS have an ABS ring, VTR don't.
I think thats the only difference.

if i photographed the boxes they came in i might be able to get the part number for the TRS shafts. When i received mine and did some research it appeared Chris was only a middle man for them.

You will struggle a lot to get the right ones. Some have different lenght, so it is always safe to get those you need for your car. If you are using a 1.6 engine, use the 1.6 ones. And for the "upgraded" ones, those are mainly the same as normal ones, but they promote the thickness a bit more. Also it really depends if you use your car on a racetrack a lot, so you need stiffer material. In daily usage you don't feel any difference. Only telling you that, because i had the same issue with mine.
