Default Help!! Magnex 3.5" + pipercross viper fitted

Sup!,
Right..am new to the whole saxo modification scene, recently bought a 51 plate mk2 VTR which am intending to slowly upgrade. so i started with the basics.

THE STORY!!
last night the car had a standard vtr exhaust and had a pipercross induction kit (NOT THE VIPER, just the standard one) installed. the car sounded very nice with a fairly deep grawl. so i decided i want the car sounding abit more naughty! so i went and bought a MAGNEX 3.5" back box and a PIPERCROSS VIPER INDUCTION KIT WITH DIRECT AIR FEED then went and installed them both.

THE PROBLEM!!
Now the car is so quiet its unbelivable! id hit 6k and hear NOTHING...i must admit the car is so much smoother to drive..the response is very smooth makes it a pleasure to drive..but the car has 0 noise...VERY ANNOYED! i basically got the opposite of what i wanted! you'd imagine with a magnex and pipercross viper = sweet deep grawls..not in my case!!!!!!!

PLEASE ANY IDEAS WHY THIS MAY BE? i undone the pipercross took it for another spin running with no air filter it sounds the exact same! so it cant be the pipercross..it certainlly somethin to do with my exhaust system or the new magnex backbox! would a decat help? or just install a different backbox? is there such thing as a silenced magnex backbox? the solution may be dead obvious but like i said am a noob and new to this just feel i wasted alot of money

HEEELLLPPPPP!!

I got a magnex on my 1.1 they are pretty quiet there not aimed at being loud just having a nice rumble, but since i put my simota induction on it sounds alot louder. so very strange how yours sounds lower than how it was.

But if your wanting loud you definately got the wrong make of exhaust bud

As above, magnex are pretty quiet exhausts tbh, mine just purred like a kitten till about 3.5k then it decided to bark A little bit.
If you want loud, get yourself a different exhaust bud.
The viper will probably be a little quieter than the open filter as well I should think. Iirc open filters are loudest but are shocking for performance

so as a conclusion its the magnex backbox?..solution is change the backbox or install full straight through system? i was thinking put a mk1 4-2-1 mani with a decat..that should spice things up a bit and probs put 3-5bhp on top or am i just talkin poo ?

You need to get a straight through pipe from the manifold back, you also need to swap the manifold for a mk1 decat.

Your cat is killing the noise.

Swap the viper to your mates hks filter
Fit a non silenced sportex or raceland race tube
Swap to a 4-2-1

5bhp & lots of noise

my VTS is fitted with the Viper Carbon Induction kit and cold air feed, with a magnex backbox, i gotta say, it roars in the engine bay when you rev it up, and its a nice rumble from the exhaust as well albeit abit tinny lol.. Granted its not as loud as i want it, but the neighbours still complain when i boot it down my road
