Question 1.1 exhaust insurance

anyone got a 1.1 and bought an exhaust? how much did your insurance go up by if any?

anyone help?

wont go up much if any mate. all depends on which insurer you are with though. and depends on what type of exhaust you are putting on. some insurance companies allow any mods as long as they are not direct engine mods. so i think exhaust back box should be ok still.

I have just put a piper backbox on my furio and the insurance went up £62 for the year... it only cost me £30 extra for the year for alloys

Im with norwich union... all insurers are different.. the £62 i pay allows me to do any exhaust and manifold modifications... so eventually i could fit a full system and not have to pay any more...

Worth calling your insurer though as all of them vary...

my m8s got a 1.1 and the exhaust he's got "hasn't affected the cars performance" and didnt affect his insurance either...lucky bastard.

Norwich Union wanted extra £50 for my wheels to be on car with locking nuts. I wouldnt mind but it came standard with alloys in 1st place, they didn't even have locking nuts! deary me. bell direct are reasonable
