Default Need exhaust advice ?

Hey saxheads i have a prob.... i know ill get moaned at through choice of exhaust but here goes... my ol dear ordered me a exhaust system for my bday which turned up the other day and ended up being sniper.... i know lol

But hey fitted it anyways its from the manifold back and its proper loud.. which i wouldnt mind so much if it wasn't loud in the car.. even at low speeds it hums so loud my ears pop hear n there ... how can i stop this ? is it due to my choice in exhaust or does this happen with most systems ?? as it decats and takes the silencer out of mine...

Any help or critisism welcome lol.

Cheers in advance peeps

get a baffler in the end of the exhaust that will lower the tone. my backbox came with one. looks stupid tho so i just put up with the noise. isnt as loud as your describing tho even tho mines also decated but failed mot test "being to loud" lol

Also you could have a problem where it hasn't been fitted properly to the down pipe. id jack it up at front stick it on axle stands. start up the engine and feel the joint all round see if theres any gas coming threw

The system is all fitted proper i made sure of that cuz thats the first thing i thought of, im tempted to change the exhaust system for a supersprint or something, spend out on a decent setup.. although if it wont change the humming i'd leave it lol, ive had some loud exhausts in my time but never had this problem.. haha

Cheers tho dude.

I'm willing to swap if you came to me :-P haha
Did you use a new metle gasket piece in the downpipe to centre pipe connection?
If you put a mid silencer on it should quieten it and I don't think youl loose to much power. But with the cat make sure you keep that to put on when it comes to mot time. That would also quieten it

I allways noticed that 8 valves just tend to hum inside the car and love to have a vibration type feel to them where as the vts is diiferent with most sytems sounds lovely when driving normally then how you want it to when you open it up not 100 percent sure more of a personal opinion and pretty new so have not even seen the sniper exhaust but sounds funny
