Sump sensor for oil
In the sump on a 106 xsi 1.6 there is a sensor poking out - is this an oil level sensor or temperature sensor? if its the later does anyone have it wired up to a gauge with a wiring diagram?

its a temp sensor.
Depends what gauge youre going to run as to how youd wire it up.

What would you recommend? Obviously I'd rather it not be the type like the pressure gauge ones where the oil runs up a pipe to the rear of the dial

Anyone else recommend one for a pre-installed electronic sensor?

The ones I used were TIM ones, they came with their own sender, but they were a different thread to the hole in the block so I had to use a convertor. No big deal though.
